Pedro Morgado

BIO

Pedro Morgado was born on September 13, 1977, in Lisbon. He discovered his passion for music early on. His musical studies began in 1986 with classical piano, taking private lessons with teacher Clotilde Rosa from the Gulbenkian Orchestra of Lisbon. In 1990, he became interested in the guitar, the instrument he considers ideal for musical expression. In 1992, he started private lessons with Miguel Mascarenhas. In July 2001, after graduating in Sociology, he developed an interest in jazz and improvised music, enrolling at the Hot Club of Portugal, where he studied jazz guitar with Bruno Santos. In 2002, for professional reasons, he left the Hot Club and joined the Seixal Modern School of Jazz, studying harmony and improvisation with Jorge Chaínho, ear training and musical formation with Fernando Costa, and instrument with Zé Soares. In 2004, he began studying flamenco with professor Jorge Chaínho and, for geographical reasons, joined Jbjazz, where he studied harmony and improvisation with Alexandre Bento, Paula Sousa, and Nuno Ferreira, ear training with Afonso Pais, combo with Gonçalo Marques, and instrument with Nuno Ferreira. In July 2007, he completed the GENERAL JAZZ COURSE (GUITAR). Currently, he works as a musician, composer, and teacher.
